Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Facilities Engineer (Instrument & Control Engineer) located in Bangkok, Thailand through October 12, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. (EST).
Position Details: Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Coordination & Oversight of Instrument & Electrical Design
  • Coordinates detailed instrument and electrical systems design for Engineering & Operations Support projects in CTEP&COTL. Typical of Engineering & Operations Support projects will consist of electrical, instrumentation and SCADA upgrades, such as platform control system (PCS, DCS, SIS, F&G and unit control System), Generator Package, Booster & Compressor sets, facility de-bottlenecking and communications systems upgrades, among others.
  • Provide strong leadership and technical direction to a highly leveraged contract facility engineering design staff.
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise for existing various brand of HMI (Honeywell Experion, Wonderware, Yokogawa, AB PanelView and etc.) and various brand of PLC/DCS controlled systems on the offshore facilities.
  • Insure adherence to relevant international standard & recommended practices, company specifications and industry codes.
  • Insure compliance with HES, PCN IP requirements.

    Project Engineering
  • Provide sound project engineering & project management skills (cost & schedule control, CPDEP and VIP application) to guide I&E projects through CPDEP phases.
  • Generate work scope, cost estimates, schedules and associated AFE’s for I&E projects. Provide I&E work scope, cost and schedule review feedback to other project teams.
  • Provide input to annual budgets regarding cost, schedule and resources for ongoing and potential projects. 
  • Provide scope of work (technical package), Installation check sheet, QA/QC check list for construction work.
  • Conclude and report the project progress and result to the project owner and project engineer concerning to the Instrument and Electrical installation as required.

    Stakeholder management of the following groups
  • Asset & Field Operation, Act as an SME to support the operation enhancement and troubleshooting 
  • FE sub teams in implementation of required support such as Technical Service Group, Project Engineering Group, Major Project Group, Reliability Group, and Construction Group for alignment of new installation or project to ensure GoT consistency or optimization.
  • Other core business if required processes, such as SERIP, i-Field, RM and etc.

    Continuous Improvement
  • Up to date new technology and maintain good practice in order to drive the improvement in reliability, efficiency and consistency including lesson learned, etc.
  • Executes the improvement based upon clear demonstration of value impacts

    Networking & Sharing of Best Practices
  • Participate in I&E technical network to facilitate best practice and new technology sharing. Leverage off existing CVX technical networks, and local and international contractors.
  • Responsible for providing a cross pollination of I&E best practices and technology initiatives across all CTEP&COTL facilities engineering projects.

    Qualifications:
     
  • Hold a Bachelor of Instrument & Control Engineering Degree with GPA more than 2.75.
  • •Have at least 5 years experience related to oil & gas industries.
  • •Possees working engineering/tehcnical knowledge and experienced related to IE & SCADA activities and process especially those related to Oil & Gas Operation Industrial.
  • Have strong troubleshooting skill.
  • Strong teamwork, coordinating, negotiation skill and able to lead to tackle many of the chronic or on-going issues. Demonstrate well in stakeholders engagement in order to gain supports to achieve the required tasks.
  • Demonstrate Operational Excellence (OE) leadership and have good performance in achieving OEHES targets. Able to influence team to strive for high OEHES standard while proceeding with tasks.
  • Experience in manage contract and demonstrate systematically control method (KPI, etc).

    Relocation Options:

    Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.

    International Considerations:

    Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
